Enable the Disable Action for People with Disabilities 2022-2032 (the Strategy) is a framework that informs all of the organization’s programs. It sets out a plan to continue to improve the lives of people with disabilities in the DRC over the next ten years
The vision of the Strategy is to build an inclusive Congolese society that ensures that people with disabilities can realize their potential as equal members of the community.
The Strategy will result in changes in seven outcome areas:
Advocate for the government to put in place programs that provide employment and career opportunities for people with disabilities and ensure they have enough income to meet their needs.
To ensure that the rights of people with disabilities are promoted, respected and protected, and that people with disabilities feel safe and equal before the law.
Advocate with government to funders to invest in increasing the numbers of accessible, affordable homes to create an inclusive and accessible community
Advocate for government programs that provide people with disabilities access to supports so they can live independently and engage in their communities
Helping people with disabilities access education and lifelong learning so they can reach their full potential
Increase support and capacity in the health care sector to meet the needs of people with disabilities, and ensure that disaster preparedness and emergency response include the needs of people with disabilities.
Work within the framework to gain recognition of the positive contribution of people with disabilities to society and build confidence in the community to work and engage with people with disabilities
